Overview

The Dolmen Foundation (the Company) was incorporated on February 20, 2023 as a Public Company Limited by Guarantee under section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. The registered office of the Company is situated at 17th Floor, The Harbour Front, Dolmen City HC-3, Block 4, Marine Drive, Clifton, Karachi.

On January 31, 2023, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan granted license to the Company to operate under section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. The license however, restricts the Company to receive any foreign funding / donation without signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Aims and objectives of the organisation

The main object of the Company is to work for the development of human resources and human welfare, promotion of social and economic well-being of the masses, improvement of the social status, and social mobilization for a prosperous society, particularly in the rural areas of Pakistan.

It also includes to establish, maintain, run, manage and administer relief programs, to help the needy, poor, and the destitute, and to grant donations during calamities and natural disasters.

Human welfare in rural areas focuses on improving the quality of life for people living in rural communities. It involves addressing key challenges such as access to basic necessities (healthcare, education, clean water, and sanitation), promoting economic opportunities, and enhancing social well-being. Providing medical facilities and food for the poor class aims to ensure that disadvantaged individuals have access to essential healthcare and nutrition. This includes offering affordable or free medical services, such as clinics, emergency care, and preventive health measures, as well as distributing food aid to meet basic dietary needs. The goal is to improve the health and well-being of impoverished communities, reduce malnutrition, and address health disparities, ultimately supporting a healthier and more stable quality of life for the underprivileged.

The goal is to create sustainable livelihoods, reduce poverty, and ensure better living conditions, ultimately contributing to a prosperous and equitable rural society.

Activities

Boarding including monthly rationing

Boarding, including monthly rationing, providing regular food supplies and meals to individuals or families, particularly those in need. This involves not only offering daily meals (boarding) but also distributing a set amount of food (rationing) on a monthly basis to ensure sustained nourishment. The goal is to alleviate hunger, improve nutrition, and support the livelihood of individuals who may struggle to access or afford adequate food, particularly in vulnerable or impoverished communities.

Medical support

Medical support by providing essential healthcare services to individuals in need, particularly in underserved or vulnerable communities. This includes access to medical treatment, emergency care and preventive healthcare. The aim is to improve overall health, address medical emergencies, and prevent the spread of diseases, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary care to lead healthier lives.

Relief programs

To provide immediate assistance to individuals and communities affected by disasters, emergencies, or difficult circumstances. These programs typically offer support in the form of food, medical care, shelter, and other essential services to help people recover and rebuild their lives. Relief programs aim to alleviate suffering, meet urgent needs, and stabilize affected populations during crises such as natural disasters, conflicts, or economic hardship. Their goal is to provide timely aid and promote resilience in vulnerable communities.

To provide financial aid, scholarships, tutoring, school supplies, and other resources aimed at reducing barriers to education.
